Features

Chrome gives you tab groups. Tabnook gives you the rest.

Tabnook adds what Chrome’s tab groups have always been missing: groups that survive, notes that stay put, snooze that comes back on schedule, and one search across all of it. All in the side panel, all on your machine.

Persistent groups

Close a group without losing it.

Every group is tracked from the moment you create it and saved as you work. Close it and it moves to your saved list instead of vanishing. One click brings it back, grouped, named, and colored exactly as you left it, even after a weekend restart that wiped everything else.

Notes

Leave yourself the reason it’s open.

Attach a note to any tab or any whole group. The note is keyed to the URL, so it survives the tab closing, reopening, and a full restart. Come back next month and the context is still sitting right there, instead of being something you have to reconstruct.

Snooze

Send it away. Get it back on schedule.

Snooze a single tab or a whole group for an hour, until this afternoon, until tomorrow morning, or a custom day and time you pick. It closes now and comes back exactly when you said, even if Chrome was closed the whole time in between.

Unified search

One search across everything.

One bar covers your open tabs, your saved groups, and every note you’ve written, both the tab notes and the group notes. Click a result to jump to the tab or reopen the group. You never have to remember which group something was filed under.

Local by design

By default, almost nothing touches the disk.

For every site you haven’t explicitly trusted, Tabnook saves only the origin, never the page title, the path, or the query string. So a case URL with a name in it becomes nothing more than the site it came from. You widen capture per domain, only where you decide it’s safe, and nothing leaves your browser either way.

The rest of it

Two more things that make it feel like part of the browser.

Side panel, not a new tab page

Tabnook lives in Chrome’s native side panel, so your groups and the page you’re reading are visible at the same time. No new tab takeover, no extra window to manage.

Works with Chrome’s own groups

Tabnook runs alongside Chrome’s native groups instead of fighting them. A quick first-run setup reconciles names so you’re never managing two copies of the same thing.

The tools your tab groups should have come with.

Free to install. Local by default. No account, no server, nothing leaving your browser.
